Is there an interesting story behind your username? I'd grown tired of using just my name, and I had a profile here under that, and couldn't recover it, so..
Location and language(s): So Cal. English, some Welsh, desperately struggling to learn Spanish, and some vestigial French.
Age range (e.g 20s, 30s, etc.): 40s.
Hot button/deal breaker issues that will likely lead to unfriending: TERFness, homophobia, racism.
Do you have an "About Me" post new friends can read to get a sense of who you are, the people you talk about regularly, etc.? Not yet slash that's what this is for?
Is your profile up-to-date or at all useful? *laughs* dang. I really don't know if I want to respond with something opaquely philosophical about how the nature of use is purely subjective and thus meaninglessly impossible to ascertain for another person...
List a few things you think it's important new friends know about you right away: I've no idea? Time is illusionary, perception is a plaything. The Universe, and thus ourselves, are divine.
You mostly write about: complete drivel.
You never or very rarely write about: The lifecycle of the mollusk.
Is your journal mostly public, locked, or a mix of public and locked? We shall see, not sure at this point.
Do you use filters for certain types of posts (e.g. fandom-related posts, or posts about sex, or mental health issues, etc.)? Hmm, dunno if I can be that specific at this juncture.
Your posting frequency (e.g. daily, every few days, weekly, etc.): No idea. At this point I'm posting several times a day on the book of faces, but I don't know how that will translate here. Might end up being twice this week, once next, one more five weeks from then, and then not again for a few years.
Does your journal frequently include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? My FB often does, but again, who knows what this'll contain.
What do you enjoy most about journaling? I really prefer long form writing in which a lot of thought goes into, and invites interaction with the reading audience.
How often do you read your friends list (e.g. daily, every other day, once a week, etc.)? Again, hard to determine how often I'll remember to log in here, if it'll become part of my daily practice, but at this point I'm hoping that it does.
You really enjoy reading about: People.
You have very little interest in reading about: Uh. it's really more about the delivery than the topic.
Your thoughts on journals that regularly include any of the following: memes, linkspams, gifs, photos, videos, etc? We contain multitudes.
When it comes to comments on your posts, what matters more -- quality or quantity? I don't want to micromanage anyone's contribution.
Do you unfriend people who don't comment much, even if you know they are reading you regularly? If it's incredibly chronic that there's NO kind of give and take, yeah. I'd like to hear something more than crickets.
What is your approach when it comes to commenting on other journals? The Unfathomable Movement of the Spirit?
If I have a particular need to respond to or validate something I read, I will. If I don't, I won't.
When you friend someone, but things don't really click, do you unfriend them without warning, or do you send them a note first? How do you prefer to be unfriended in similar circumstances?
...yeah, unless I know you in real life or long enough that we can properly be considered friends, I'm not super pressed if you show yourself the door without explanation, and vice versa. If there's already an established relationship at play anything that would warrant unfriending would generally also warrant an Actual Off-Journal conversation.
Friending memes often ask people to list their favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., but more often than not, those aren't things people actually write about in their journal. Do you have any favourite TV shows, movies, books, etc., that you DO often write about -- not necessarily in a fandom sort of way, just in general?
That I write about regularly? not that I can think of. I may mention in passing media I consume and like in my entries...
Any final thoughts you'd like to share with potential new friends? I guess primarily I'm not necessarily looking for new friends, rather reconnecting, or connecting in a new way with the ones I already have.
